What we want for the children of Nepal
We wish for all children to grow up in a safe, nurturing family environment, where they are loved, valued and respected and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
What We Do
We strengthen and empower families so they can care for and protect their children. We return displaced children to their families and communities and provide alternative temporary care for children who have no option for safe care with their parents or wider family networks.
The principles that guide everything we do:
Non-discrimination – We do not discriminate against children or their families based on any factors including religion, gender, physical characteristics, political preference, ethnic group or background.
Child focused – All our programs have the best interest of the children at heart and aim to ensure their rights are realised and they are given the chance to develop according to their individual capacity.
Active participation – We encourage youth and their families to participate in decisions that affect them and take on active roles within their communities to help bring about positive change.
Empowerment – We help youth and their families identify their needs and provide them the skills and support needed to be able to take greater control over their lives and develop long term sustainable solutions for them and their families.
Partnership – We work in close partnership with local people and communities to help them develop meaningful solutions through open, honest, mutually respectful communication, always taking a community led approach.
Sustainability – We facilitate positive developments with the aim of bringing about permanent solutions and benefits in the community which are ongoing after our involvement has ended.
